What's New?
March 2008 - Golden Haven co-sponsors Circle of Care 2008 Conference with the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce of Santa Clara County, Inc.

About Us
Golden Haven is a residential care facility for the memory-impaired elderly suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.  We are licensed by the Department of Social Services, State of California to offer non-medical services for long-term, short-term, and Hospice Care.  As such, we are able to provide continuity of care for as long as residents do not require 24-hour skilled-nursing attention.  Our newly integrated Hospice Care has eliminated the "transfer trauma" that commonly occurs when residents relocate to a different facility.

Facility
With a capacity of one hundred and fifty private and semi-private beds we are one of the largest stand-alone residential care facilities in the state of California.  The entire 2.5 acres of facility grounds is encompassed by a security fence.  Additionally, we are one of the few facilities in the area to utilize an interior and exterior video-monitoring system to keep a constant, watchful eye over all our residents throughout our premises.  All Golden Haven rooms are equipped with basic furnishings (bed, dresser, resting chair, closet, etc.), security locks, full bathroom, and individual HVAC units.  Facility hallways include handrails, seating areas, and skylights.  Our 40,000 square foot-facility also features:

· Reception area · Recreation/craft room
· Dining hall   · Movie Theater/reading room
· Kitchen · Beauty parlor
· Activity room / Lounge area with cable TV · Nurses’ station
· 2 indoor patio-gardens · Private and semi-private bedrooms
· Laundry facilities  · Jacuzzi room
· Medical examination room · Hospitality room
· Intercom and music surround sound speaker system

* Private room residents reserve the option to provide personal furnishings.

Who is Eligible?

Requirements:

*1. Must be a memory-impaired individual, sixty years or older (if younger, needs must be compatible) who does not need 24-hour skilled nursing care.

· Golden Haven has a complete medical team but each resident may select his/her own physician, psychiatrist, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, in-home nursing agency, and others as necessary. Contact information of such is required upon admission.
-
· Residents with diabetes and/or poor circulation as determined by a physician are required to have podiatry services and permission to use in-home nursing service if resident is insulin-dependent.
